Personal Information A follow up to the CEOP Jigsaw Film Presentation created by Miranda Ross Reading LA

Can you match ‘real life’ with ‘online life’ in the following pictures? (Though I bet you wouldn’t actually do those things in ‘real life’…)

Bonus point! What does this image match with? Does it fit with more than one?

What risks does she take?

address for all to see School uniform shows where she goes to school – she also tells Simon the name of her school Her age - you can share this, but don’t if you don’t have to Where she lives Leaves her profile public Says where she’ll be, and when Puts up inappropriate photos that anyone can copy/save

You wouldn’t normally expect someone random to wonder into your house off the street and start chatting to you as if they were your best friend… But have you ever talked to anyone online and not known who they are? Who should you be talking to when you are at Primary school? Just friends and family who you know in real life

Do you have any photos online you wouldn’t want your parents, grandparents, teachers or future employers to see? Do you need to make any changes?

What settings should you use? What settings do you use? Do you need to make any changes?

Keep your personal information private Learn how to keep your settings private Remember to be as careful online as you are offline Learn where to go for help (Trusted Adult, CEOP Report Abuse, Childline, There4me) Be nice to each other online

Cyberbullying

Is what happened her fault? (If yes, then why?) No - bullying is never acceptable, but she did make things easier for the bullies. Isn’t it too late for her to do anything about it now? No, it’s never to late to tell.

Find out how to report and block, just in case you need to And remember if you are worried about anything, talk to a trusted adult – like your parents or family, or an adult at school

There are lots of people who want to help you, including the staff at your school

Have fun and stay safe
