What is a reflexive verb? Lavar(to wash) Not Reflexive!! add no special pronouns Lavo lavamos Lavas lavais Lava lavan Lavarse (to wash oneself) Reflexive- add these special pronouns menos Teos Sese Me lavo nos lavamos Te lavasos lavais Se lavase lavan PRESENT TENSE CONJUGATIONS I’m washing myself, I wash myself, you wash yourself, he’s washing himself

Using Ir a + infinitive Infinitives are the verbs that have “to….” In spanish, they have ar, ir, er STILL ON THEM Conjugate Ir, and then nothing else. 1.I’m going to wash the car. 2.We’re going to wash the house. Voy a lavar el coche. Vamos a lavar la casa.

Using Ir a +infinitive (when the inf. Is a reflexive verb) You still only conjugate Ir The pronoun DOESN”T MOVE, but it might change. You try: Add pronouns where they go 1.yo/banarse-- bano a las seis. 2.Yo/ir a vestirse-- voy a vestir 3.Nosotros/lavar el coche-- lavamos el coche 4.Tu/lavarse el pelo-- lavas el pelo me te No pronoun goes in, because lavar is not a reflexive verb.

You try: What do these phrases say? 1.Voy a ponerme los zapatos. 2.Ella va a quitarse el piyama. 3.Tu vas a lavarte el pelo. 4.Nosotros vamos a cepillarnos los dientes. I’m going to put on myself the shoes. / I’m going to put my shoes on. She is going to take off herself the pijamas/ she is going to take off her pjs You are going to wash yourself the hair./ you’re going to wash your hair We are going to brush ourselves the teeth/ we’re going to brush our teeth.
