Endangered Species By: Nikitha

Facts About Tiger The roar of a Bengal tiger can carry for over 2km at night. . Every tiger in the world is unique - no two tigers have the same pattern of stripes If you look a tiger in the eyes he is less likely to kill you Tigers have antiseptic saliva

Where does it live? Most Tigers live in Asia, specifically throughout Southeast Asia, China, Korea and Russia. Tigers like to live in swamps, grasslands, and rain forests. Usually where Tigers live there are trees, bushes, and clumps of tall grass.

Population Population: 3,890 Tigers in the world

Environment/Ecosystem Changes

Ecosystem Position They are the top predators in their ecosystems. This means that while they have many prey species, they have no naturally occurring predators.

Why are they endangered? They are endangered because of illegal hunting for their pelts, meat and body parts (used in folk medicines) as well as habitat loss that results from logging and other forms of forest destruction.

Diversity Diversity is differences in people. A diverse organization is one that values the difference in people. It is one that recognizes that people with different backgrounds, skills, attitudes and experiences bring fresh ideas and perceptions.

How are we saving them? we are saving them by giving the tigers, large areas of habitat with sufficient water to drink, animals to eat, and vegetative cover for hunting. Optimal tiger habitat includes a core area of at least 1,000 square kilometers that is free from most human activities. And so far it is working.

Seed Bank A seed bank stores seeds as a source for planting in case seed reserves elsewhere are destroyed. It is a type of gene bank. The seeds stored may be food crops, or those of rare species to protect biodiversity
