This will be my twelfth year teaching fifth grade. I currently live in Morton with my wife and three children. My educational background ISU – Bachelors and Masters Bradley – Administration degree About Me

Be respectful Be attentive Be safe Be your best If an expectation is not met Warning Checkmark Call home Lunch detention Expectations Be respectful Be attentive Be safe Be your best If an expectation is not met Warning Checkmark Call home Lunch detention

Not all assignments will be given a grade- think of them as practice at home. Two checkmarks will be given for the incomplete assignment and recess will be missed. Each student will receive one freebie each grading period. This does not mean they don’t have to complete the assignment. Late work is due the following day. Corrections will be required in math if a D or F is earned Daily Assignments

If the class turns in all their homework assigned for that day the class will earn an E. This will continue until EXTRA RECESS is spelled. This is usually done on Friday.

My expectation is that all assignments will be written in the planner, regardless if it’s completed at school or not. I do not require students to have their planner signed by a parent each night. Students and parents should make it a nightly routine to go over the planner and Boomerang folder. Planners

Thursday: spelling test – list will come home on Friday Friday: math quiz and reading test Reading tests will be given on Friday, too, but not every week. Language, science and social studies assessments will be given after a unit. Spelling and vocabulary can be found on my website and on spellingcity.com. Weekly Assessments

Most graded papers will be sent home Friday afternoon. Notes, newsletters, and forms will be sent home throughout the week. Conduct/effort sheets will be sent home each Friday. They need to be signed and returned Monday morning. Friday Folders

Each student will have an individual goal. The best way to succeed with AR is to read at home at least 20 minutes a night. An extra 100 will be given if the A.R. goal is reached for each grading period. A ticket can be earned for each passed test with an 80% or higher. Accelerated Reader

Tickets Students can earn a ticket for being a person of character, keeping a clean desk, participation, and a 100 percent on a quiz or test. Book orders – make the check to me or order online Newsletter will be sent home once a month Masters of Multiplication Weblinks My websitewebsite Last Slide
