September, Almaty Difficulties Difficult to measure or to estimate the pollutants present in the raw industrial and domestic wastewater discharged into the urban collecting system For the industrial units which discharge waste water partially in urban collecting system and partially in natural receiver – attention to avoid double counting Data concerning effluents characterization by different treatment stage of the WWTP are in some cases difficult to find out Population connected to independent treatment

September, Almaty Data gaps О Diffusion pollution - pollution from widespread activities with no one discrete source (pesticides, urban run-off, forestry, construction) О can not be measured directly and is only estimated by models that take into account various factors such as soil structure, precipitation, wind speed, temperature etc. О In many countries these studies are performed ​​ (if any) by specialized institutes and universities in certain periods of time О Water use by self supply – in present we are collecting data on water use only from public water supply О Data aggregation at NUTS level – in present we are collecting data on waste water only on hydrographical basin level and at national level
