1 Alexander Petrovich Dalimayev,
Head of Water Cadastre Software Support Sector of the Department of Water Monitoring and Cadastre Use of data on waste water generation, treatment and disposal in the Republic of Belarus

2 Composition of data on waste water generation, treatment and disposal
Data are divided into the following categories: Waste water generation Waste water treatment Waste water discharge Volume of disposal Content of pollutants

3 Waste water generation
Treated water generated, including by categories of water coming for treatment (thou. m3 / year) Waste water from public sewage system serving our population Waste water when using water for domestic water supply disposed by water users themselves Waste water generated in industry andagricultural production, Waste water generated from agricultural water supply Surface waste water Drainage, quarry and other water

4 Waste water treatment Design capacity of treatment plant (m3 / day, thou. m3 / year), loading efficiency, number of waste water treatment plants, including by categories and types of treatment Local treatment of industrial waste water Treatment at public facilities with disposal to water bodies, including by types: mechanical physicochemical biological deep with post-treatment including land drainage treatment when disposing using absorption fields, filtering channels, sand-and gravel filters

5 Waste water disposal Volume of disposal (authorized, actual, registered by metering instruments) (thou. m3 / year), specific water disposal (l/day/person) to environment, including by types of collectors: to water bodies (reservoirs and water courses), to ground waters when using: sewage farming absorption fields, filtering channels, sand-and gravel filters land collectors to subsoils (underground horizon) to water bodies, including by categories of waste water quality: which do not require treatment treated, including by degrees of treatment poorly treated treated to standard quality including land drainage

6 Content of pollutants Content of pollutants in waste waters disposed to water bodies (average annual concentration, annual quantity), including chemical indicators, including: hydrogen index (рН) water salinity (by dry residues) dissolved oxygen biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5) dichromate oxidizability (COD) chemical agents, including biogenic (nitrate ions, nitrite ions, ammonium ions, phosphate ions, total ferrum) heavy metals (chrome total, manganese ions, nickel, copper, zinc, molybdenum, cadmium, stannum, mercury, plumb, vanadium, bismuth) other (suspended substances, petroleum and petroleum products, anionic synthetic surfactants, sulphate ions, chloride ions, phenol, fluoride ions, rhodanates, pesticides and etc.)

7 Data on waste water generation, treatment and disposal are used :
for submission of tax statements for waste water disposal for elaboration of individual technological standards regarding the quantity and quality of disposed waste waters By water users for establishment water disposal standards and admissible release of pollutants for water users in the permits for a special water use for calculation of damage to waters as a result of violation of water protection legislation by water users and submission of claim for current regulation of impact to water resources By territorial bodies of the Ministry of Natural Resources

8 Data on waste water generation, treatment and disposal are used:
for information support of the state and international projects: programs of socio-economic development for the nearest and distant perspective schemes of multiple use and protection of water by river basins the state water cadastre and National system of environmental monitoring intergovernmental working groups on transboundary rivers international agreements “The Protocol on Water and Health”, “Register of emissions and pollutants transfer” and etc. By the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Protection

9 Data on waste water generation, treatment and disposal are used:
for development of the scheduled actions on environment protection and use of natural resources By other Ministries (agencies) for development of the ‘Environmental impact evaluation’ section when ecologically examining the objects being designed By Design Institutes By Scientific and Educational Institutions for maintaining scientific research on protection and effective use of water resources
