The English Project 11th grade 4 points 2011

What is the English Project? A research paper in English that every Bagrut pupil must do in high school.

What is the English Project? Part of the Oral Bagrut Exam. The Oral Bagrut Exam is worth 20% of the final Bagrut grade. A research paper of 500-700 words. An opportunity to use the vocabulary and skills you have learned.

What is in an English Project? The introduction to the subject The body (information about the subject) The conclusion. The reflection (what you think about the process) The bibliography (your list of sources)

What is the Presentation? The presentation is how the final paper looks. It is 20% of the total grade.

Where Do I Find the Information? You must use at least 3 sources in English. You can find information on the Internet, in the library, in magazines, on TV programs (The History Channel or Channel 8). You must print or photocopy your sources and include them in the project. You will lose points if your sources are not included.

How Do I Get Started? You will be introduced to the two general subjects: Sports Events – important international sports competitions Movers and Shakers – people who made a change in our world

How Do I Get Started? You will choose a topic from the list You may choose to work alone or with another pupil. You will look for information on your topic. You will receive a schedule of assignments that will help you.

Following the Schedule Each assignment or task will be a small step in the process of writing your project. Part of the work will be done in class and your performance will be part of the grade. Handing in tasks on time is part of the project grade.

The Stages of the Project(1) Choose the topic you want to write about. Collect the information and print the material .

The Stages of the Project (2) Read the material. Copy the information you need. If you are working with another pupil, divide the work. Organize the information and write the first copy (draft) of the research paper.

The Stages of the Project (3) Hand in the first copy of the research paper to be checked by the teacher. Correct the first copy and write the final research paper. Organize the project for presentation Hand the project in ON TIME.
