Starter Activity How many things can you think of in your house that were invented in the last 150 years? EXTENSION QUESTION: Have these inventions always made life better?

Britain : How did life change? L/O To be able to describe how life changed in Britain during the years To be able to evaluate whether these changes were positive or negative

Background The years are known as the Industrial Revolution. It was a period of great change. See if you can work out what some of these changes were from looking at the following pictures.

Complete the following table What forms of power can you see? What forms of transport can you see? What jobs are there? Are there lots of people living in one place?

Focus on Birmingham
