Fun facts He loved recycling! George said “ I wanted to know every strange stone, flower, insect, bird or beast”. His brother Jim died of small pox. George Washington Carver died January 5, 1943 at the age of 77, he was buried next to Booker T. Washington. He worked for 47 years.
