Before Meeting Advisees: RACR See Advising website, Menu, For Academic Advisors, How to Read a RACR Review RACR in advance Be sure advisees use RACR Use Notes feature to record advice given

Use RACR to check progress to degree Your program MAY require more than 120 credit hours to complete all requirements. Your program MAY require fewer than 120 credit hours; unrestricted electives may be needed to reach 120 credit hours. Check GPA; advisees may need to retake courses to meet GPA requirements. Ask if advisee is succeeding in all current courses; MAP-Works includes Midterm grades, Referrals, Academic Updates, which may indicate problems.

RACR and Transfer Courses Transfer courses with prefixes TRN, CLL, SCL, HLP, MLL, SOS, ESC, GAC, GED are courses that do not have an established Murray State equivalent. See Transfer Equivalency Course Look-Up for courses already evaluated.Transfer Equivalency Course Look-Up These courses may appear in “Unrestricted Electives – Additional Hours Toward Degree” at bottom of RACR (after area/major/minor, before “Insufficient and Withdrawals”) Evaluate these courses for equivalency

Transfer Course Equivalencies If course is equivalent, contact the Transfer CenterTransfer Center (course will be evaluated and added to equivalency for ALL FUTURE evaluations) If course should be substituted for University Studies for THIS STUDENT ONLY, use the University Studies Course Substitution form University Studies Course Substitution If the course should be substituted for a course in your program, use the Registrar Course Exception formCourse Exception

Transfer-In Level Remains! Note: if a 200-level course from another institution is substituted for a 300+ course at MSU, the course will NOT count toward 300+ credit hours for graduation.

RACR “What-If” “What-If” allows student and/or advisor to view a RACR for a different area, major, track, program, minor Problems with RACR? Contact
