1.After reading this weeks story, you will compare and contrast 2 characters. 2.Open ReadWriteThink Venn diagram app. 3.Type your name and choose your image. 4.Add a title to your Venn Diagram. 5.Click New Item in upper left corner to add new information to your Venn Diagram. 6.Make sure your name is added to Venn Diagram on the lower right. 7.Screen shot your Venn Diagram for teacher to check. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): Learning Target: RL.5.3: Compare and contrast two or more characters, settings, or events in a story or drama, drawing on specific details in the text (e.g., how characters interact). 1.Students will now go to the App Write About It. 2.Click Quick Write 3.On the right hand side, create an outline stating 3 ways the characters are different and 3 ways they are alike. 4.Now click on Record Audio and then press Record. Now verbally explain your Venn Diagram. 5.Click Save Audio, and then click Save to Gallery. Click YES when it ask you to save this “Write About” ( Skip when it prompts to choice and author). 6.Click Video to Camera Roll. 7.Now your video can be found under the My Photos in the Video folder. Compare and Contrast 1.Using the app Sock Puppets, you will work with your shoulder partner to create puppets that will explain why they are alike and different. 2.When you click on Sock Puppets click on New. 3.Each student will choose a Sock Puppet Character, and then press next. 4.Now you will pick a Background, and then click next. 5.Pick your props and scenery. Then click Next. 6.Now you will press record and create a “play” explaining why one is different from the other and also how they are the same. 7.After you and your shoulder partner have completed your Sock Puppet Play, save your video to the camera roll.
