Who am I? Name: Nefeli Kousi Studies: Informatics and Telecommunications (NKUA, Greece) CERN: Technical student I am technically part of PH-DT but I am supervised by PH-SFT Nice example of cooperation between PH support groups

Why this project? Goal:  Communicate the activities, achievements and identity of the group  Follow CERN brand and style  With respect to the unique identity of the PH-DT teams Deliverables:  Scalable and simple infrastructure for the site  Easily maintainable  Act as the editor of the content for the initial fase What we worked with:  Drupal 7

Why Drupal?  Drupal is a powerful tool for web development and content editing.  CERN’s choice for the web presence of the Organisation (infrastructure for hosting, backup and support)  Clear and Transparent cooperation with the CERN infrastructure (indico meetings, CERN personnel database)  No extra workload added or extensive training needed since it offers a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor  Changing content straight from the browser window

What we did In order to have a stable and sustainable web site we:  Used only (when possible) centrally managed components and tools  Provided rock solid infrastructure to add and edit content  Provided a first implementation of the content  Provided a comprehensive documentation of the site and its usage (pointers given later in this presentation)
