Greek mythology was based on a polytheistic religion.

Myths are stories that were told by Ancient Greeks. Myths were used to explain Natural phenomena, such as weather, the stars, the sea

3. Life events Falling in love Death

Each god or goddess had a responsibility. Zeus was the king of the gods.

Hera was Zeus’s wife. She is the queen of the gods.

Apollo, the sun god, and Artemis, the moon goddess, are twins.

Athena is the goddess of war.

Aphrodite is the goddess of love and beauty.

Many of Western (our) civilization’s symbols, metaphors, words, and idealized images come from ancient Greek mythology!
