Potassium By: Kristin Caktas

Potassium The symbol for potassium is K Atomic number-19 Atomic mass- 39.1 # of protons- 19 # of neutrons- 20 # of electrons-19

Element history/ features Discovered by Humphry Davy in 1807 Named by Humphry Davy Used in fertilizer, soaps, detergents, and drain clearers Silvery white Produces a lilac coloured flame Lustre Very soft and can be cut easily with a knife Solid at room temp.

Interesting things about potassium Very reactive element Has one extra electron (wants to lose that electron) It is a Alkali metal Very very reactive with water Covered with a layer of dioxide Very soft and if cut shows inner layer is shiny

Thanks For Watching 
