responsible digital citizenship By: Aiden

What is responsible digital citizenship? Responsible digital citizenship is many things. The topics I am covering are how anti-virus software, firewall, and malware can effect your digital citizenship. Now to answer the question, a responsible digital citizen is someone who follows the rules of the interknitted webs, goes on appropriate sites, and is a good person to other people.

Anti-virus software  What is it? It is a software that helps protect against viruses and other harmful programs/people making the programs. The viruses can steal info, make you computer slow, and over all permanently shut down your computer

Why get anti-virus software?  Why get it? If you want you computer to be safe than it would be wise to get. Viruses can steal personal info and destroy your computer completely! If you get it than only real good hackers or the government will be able to get in and hack it!

How does it connect with responsible digital citizenship(r.d.c.)?  How does it connect with r.d.c.? Anti-virus software will protect your personal info that is on your computer from bad programs like viruses created by hackers and such. This makes you responsible for your own protection for you need to order this software.

A firewall  What is a firewall? A fire wall is an invisible “wall” that controls the content that you can view. It also controls new website and will over all keep people you don’t want to see/ talk to out of your life

Why get a ‘firewall’?  Well I personally think that a firewall is a waste of time but I guess you would want to get it to only let in sites that you have confirmed to have access to your computer. It also helps protect you from fake sites that are their to get info and then like steal your face or something.

How does a firewall connect to responsible digital citizenship?  Well it connects like you are being responsible for protecting yourself and the people that use the network from viruses, predators, and creepos!

Malware  If you are a good person you will never ever try to use malware to get other peoples info and stuff. This malware is a program that can damage and can hack/gather personal info?!

Why to not use and protect against malware  If you use malware to attack someone via a social media account by hacking their computer or something, it is not only wrong but it is also illegal. Now for these reasons you should a, not use malware. And b, protect against it!

Well this is the end….  Well I know you will miss me but I have to go now…….. So remember this………………
