1. When do I start? a. (10 th & 11 th grade) Make a list of the colleges you would like to attend; use the internet: BigFuture b. (11 th grade-Spring) Take college entrance exams such as the SAT & ACT c. (12 th grade – Fall) Begin filling out the online applications and save them using a PIN. Some housing applications are taken as early as Sept. 1 st.

Top 10% = automatic acceptance to Texas public colleges (if required paperwork is complete by deadlines) -UT = currently top 7-8% d. Holistic review process. Student does not meet automatic admission requirements but is considered based on entire body of work during high school.

PSAT - OCTOBER 14, PN-G HIGH SCHOOL Parallels the SAT Math, Reading, Writing and Language (No Essay)

 It better reflects what you’re learning in class.  “SAT vocabulary words” are gone. Two words you won’t see on the test: “prevaricator” and “sagacious”. You may see a word like “synthesis” which you’re more likely to use again.  There’s no penalty for guessing. You’ll receive points for the questions you get right, but won’t be penalized for choosing the wrong answer.  It focuses on the math that matters the most for college and a wide variety of careers.  Free test practice for all—
