12 What is the ACT? Accepted at all colleges and universities.
The ACT is an achievement test – it measures what you know now. The ACT tests students in the areas of English, math, science, reading and writing. A total ACT score is a composite score (an average of each section combined for a total score). Students recommended to take the ACT are often those who have a combination of both college preparatory courses and non-college preparatory courses.
