Today is Monday, November 16 th. No warm-up today! Today, you will be sharing your cause and effect story! You have ten minutes to finish your story! Use your block chart to help you organize your story. After that time, you will read your story to your classmates. If you finish early, read over your story and check for errors or parts that might not make sense. You will need a whiteboard, markers and an eraser!

In your groups, each person needs to take on a role: 1. 2 people to identify causes and effects 2. 1 person to write down signal words (groups of five will have 2!) 3. 1 person to speak 4. When each story is done, you and your group members must give it three scores: You must decide if there are at least 3 causes and 3 effects You must decide how clear it was You must decide how interesting/creative it was

Today is Tuesday, November 17 th. Warm-up: 1. What might be the cause if someone fails a test? 2. What might be the effect of you eating rotten food? 3. What would be the effect of an earthquake hitting Renton? 4. What might be a cause for you receiving a giant cake? 5. Combine these two events with a signal word: Your sister is crying. Each person will do this on a separate sheet of paper. You will use this for an assessment on Monday!
