Our society still practices gender based inequalities socially and behaviorally. In fight to prove superiority of one gender over other, we have forgotten to enjoy the gender inequalities. Yes,the make of man is different than a woman and vice versa. However does that mean either should be considered strong or weak? This Workshop is an attempt to highlight and celebrate the gender inequalities in terms of strength, weakness, emotions, areas of power and delicacy through Kathak. We appreciate equality,so lets also appreciate and celebrate, not shy away from these inequalities - the way nature has made us” Kathak for HIM

Kathak for HIM is a 90 minute work shop which is The masculine version of Kathak, thoughtfully conceptualized by Kathak Guru Smt. Aparna Mishra. Aparna out of her years of teaching experience and research work, has designed a defined version of Kathak for male – considering Bol, Foot work, Bhaav (expression), gestures, body language - to be more masculine in nature. – so that they could engage with comfort level Kathak for HIM

As a part of this program we will cover the following activities. These activities have their own unique effect in our lives. It helps to shape oneself personally, socially, professionally, spiritually, emotionally and in all other measures and expressions of our existence! Techniques and content - Workshop  Nature art and mathematics tuned in together for Kathak –, presenting delicacies of kathak based on Fibonacci series, Golden Ratio, Infinite Loop.  Introduction to Tatkars (foot work). Understanding and discussing the mathematics behind this art through padhant(reading the numbers on fingure), logical stimulation through presentations and interactive session.  Recital of vedic mantras,discussing Mythological stories through Abhinay – an emotional and spiritual titillation.

Special preview of “Hanuman Tandava” – when Hanuman adresses Ravan and his men at court after Ashok Vatika kand. A thought proviking performance by Aparna, Portraying various emotions of men, leaving a social message. A powerful performance – “ Dance of Prakriti“ by members of Shivaakriti Foundation Children, dancing on the beats and rhythm of Fibonacci series, depicting nature as human with different shades ! These children have taken up dance as their education and career. They choose to realise their energy and channalise it and live life with a purpose.
