BT investing £2.5bn to deliver superfast broadband infrastructure upgrades to 2/3rds of the UK by Delivered by Fibre Optics lines replacing copper lines at least to street cabinets. Broadband Upgrade Commercial Roll Out

Main aims: Reliability, Sustainability and Affordability (to the end user). County already working with industry to encourage quicker roll out of SF broadband. Submitted bid to BDUK for funding: Now in discussions with BDUK to agree plan and allocation of BDUK funding. With BDUK funding the County Council will find a private sector partner to co-invest.
