Cereal Project Part 1

Project Background Welcome to the world of product planning! You will be planning a new cereal product for a specific market segment. You will be branding your product and making decisions regarding its marketing mix. Remember that all decisions must be based on your specific target market.

Part 1 Plan the ingredients and features of your cereal. You may actually make your cereal by combining existing cereals or other ingredients; however, it is not required. You must at least have some basic ingredients identified. You will aslo specify nutritional information including calories per serving.

Part 2 Brand your cereal. Create a brand name, brand mark(logo), and advertising slogan.

Part 3 Design your cereal package. Take an existing cereal box and cover it completely. Do not leave any part of the box empty. Your package will help sell your product to the target market.

Part 4 Decide on the price of your cereal. Check competing products’ pricing.

Part 5 Decide on where you will distribute your cereal. Be specific.

Part 6 Design a magazine advertisement for your cereal. Identify the specific magazine(s) in which the ad will run.
