AS90736: Develop and communicate a solution for an architectural or environmental design brief Sample 1 - Achieved

Commentary

There is good supporting annotation that supports the design ideas, however some if the communication skills especially the manually sketched components could be strengthened at this level. Slide 11- It would be beneficial to tie this collage back into the design process, to enable its relevance to be seen. There is good use of computer generated modes to show the design ideas here. Slide 12-The use of computer generated images helps to show the specialist graphics knowledge required by EN 6. Slide 17- The specialist knowledge ie the anthropometric data and ergonomic information, should be applied in the design concept and development stages to show how the research has helped the design process and generation of the solution Slides The sketches lack the communication skills expected at this level. Techniques such as crating, thin/thick line technique etc should be evident as they are expected at level 2 in the external A/S. The research links into the design development stage. The size of the storage unit should be investigated here as the final drawing appears to be different from the developed idea on slides
