would of vs. would have (nonstandard language) Rule: would have refers to a missed opportunity in the past. In informal speech, it contracts to would’ve, not "would of.

chose vs. choose (2 of 2) Rule: The present participle of choice is ‘choose’. It is a verb which is pronounced as “chews”. To choose is to pick out or select. The past tense of choose is ‘chose’. It is a verb too and is pronounced as “choze”.
