How we started Previous experience of the project partners 2 years previous cooperation Erasmus Lifelong Learning Project «Mediation in Civil and Criminal Cases to Foster European Wide Settlement of Disputes» (2012 – 2014) 2 weeks Intensive learning Program for students (40 students from 4 universities)

What was the aim of current project? 1.E-Book on mediation 2.Study materials on mediation 3.Video lectures on mediation 4.Mediators’ network 5.Two weeks long IP course on mediation for students of partner universities

Achievements: E-Book on Mediation Chapters of the E-Book is published: / Materials on mediation / E-Book and self-study materialshttp://mediation.turiba.lv Book is divided into 2 parts: 1) national reports from IT, LT, EE and LV (by Francesco Pesce, Vigita Vebraite, Maria Claudia Solarte Vasquez and Dana Rone) 2) articles on mediation issues

Achievements: Mediators’ network / Mediation experts Contacts of persons, governmental and non-governmental institutions involved in and related to mediation process The aims: 1)encourage mediators for further cooperation, 2)provide a list of mediators and stakeholders in mediation, 3)promote access to mediation.

Achievements: IP course on mediation Intensive 2 weeks study program on mediation for ~35 students from 4 partner universities Students learned 2 weeks about mediation, played role plays, practiced mediation skills Study visits to the Parliament of Latvia and the Supreme Court of Latvia Meeting with the Ambassador of Italy Final test in theory of mediation and practical skills

Achievements: promotion of mediation The main goal: minimize workload of courts Train students (future lawyers, entrepreneurs, psychologists, politicians) in amicable dispute resolution skills Provide further study materials for persons already working in mediation
