5 SDO Updates HL7: DAF FHIR IG 1.1 DAF FHIR IG 1.1 Initial updates to the DAF FHIR IG 1.1 have been completed Infrastructure and Messaging (InM) WG Meeting Met with InM on 4/11/16 to update the WG of the new conformance resource for DAF. This was in response to previous feedback that the DAF conformance resource was too broad, we are now scoping it down and in essence creating a minimum bar to be DAF compliant. In addition, a motion was made to close out 50 resolved tickets carried over from the ballot Meeting details can be accessed here: FHIR Connectathon 12- Montreal, Canada DAF will not be testing as a “formal” track at the May FHIR Connectathon, however will combining feedback received from other FHIR resource testing as their results from Connectathon come back DAF FHIR IG 2.0 DAF is currently evaluating a list of items, including new FHIR resources that will be balloted by DAF this September. The project scope statement (PSS) for a September Ballot has a due date of 5/24/16

6 C2: Standardize Metadata Draft structure of the C2 JSON resource has been created and is now being reviewed/updated by team members before finalization. Implementation to begin once general consensus has been reached on the JSON resource. C3: Standardize Query Distribution & C4: Standardize Query Aggregate Results Draft structure for the C3 & C4 JSON resources have been created and reviewed by the team. Detailed sample JSON message exchange being created for final group approval of the C3 and C4 JSON structures. Implementation to begin next week after review of the JSON message exchange. 7 C1: Standardize data extraction mechanism from clinical data sources to populate data marts Reviewed and validated the mapping of EDW/FHIR/CDM elements completed so far. Initiated discussion regarding creation of new FHIR resources for CDM elements that do not have a FHIR or DAF profile equivalent (e.g., DEATH, ENROLLMENT). Reviewed the revised REACHnet architecture based on suggestions of database changes. Provided updates on the approach and implementation of C1 items, which REACHnet is currently developing. 13 SDO Updates DAF Publications  DAF FHIR IG DSTU (HL7) On September 23, 2015, Health Level Seven® International (HL7®) published Release 2 of the HL7 Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR®) Draft Standard for Trial Use (DSTU). Additionally, we are pleased to announce that the DAF FHIR Implementation Guide, a US-realm specific implementation guide, has also been published!! The DAF FHIR IG identifies and recommends standards for the interoperable representation and transmission of data using the notion of a Query Stack which modularizes the various layers of the Data Access Framework.DAF FHIR Implementation Guide  DAF Document Metadata Based Access IG (IHE) On September 24, 2015, the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) Patient Care Coordination (PCC) Technical Committee published The Data Access Framework (DAF) Document Metadata Based Access Implementation Guide. This US National Extension provides requirements and guidance on accessing clinical documents created during clinical workflows.
