PUSD Reading Intervention Plan Read 180 and System 44 Implementation Plan August 5,2014

Program is an Intervention in the areas of:  Decoding Skills  Vocabulary  Comprehension  Fluency  Written Language (new in revised version)

Participating Schools Replacement Language Arts Core grades 4-8 Meeting A-G L.A. requirements for grades An approved reading intervention for students in special education Read 180 is approved by State of California as:

Implementation Plan District Office Prior to August 20:  Securing Teachers – currently interviewing 4 Full Time; 4 Part Time  Teacher Training in program (Aug or 21-22)  Provide list of potential students to principals  Secure Materials for the site

Continued  Get computer access for all sites (cloud based program)  Cohort groups set up in Illuminate for data  Administrator training for monitoring  Provide coaching schedule to sites

Site Administrators:  Identify classroom available for 2 hours per day that has 5 computers for students  Schedule time for intervention and send to Debbie Daly  Based on list of students, determine priority list for assessment  Responsible for evaluation with support from sped program specialist.

Teachers will: 8/20-9/5: Complete Fluency/SRI/SPI assessments for potential students With administrator, identify students Create student list in SAM (Read 180 data base) 9/8/14: Begin program Develop smart goals for students Collaborate with General Education Teachers

Teachers cont. Provide Language Arts Grade for students Participate in Monthly Coaching provided by Scholastic Monitor student performance weekly Participate in monthly monitoring meetings at the district
