What is Weatherization? The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) reduces energy costs for low-income households by increasing the energy efficiency of their homes, while ensuring their health and safety. Primary goal for the Wx program: “save energy for low income Wisconsinites by providing... …the best possible service, at the best possible price, in a timely manner.” Services delivered to single-family, multi-family, and mobile homes

Why Weatherization? Increases energy efficiency of the home Reduces energy costs year-round Provides long-term relief from expensive energy bills –Measures continue to save money every year Alleviates arrears, breaks destructive cycle of shut-offs and re-connections

Total Local Grants $54,787,809 Operations includes construction labor, materials, tools, equipment, program management and program support costs. Repairs necessary to install energy saving measures are included in the Operations cost. H & S funds are for costs involved with the elimination of energy related health and safety hazards in the weatherized household.
