Agenda Day 1  Welcome Work-Create TCCI Account  High School and College Requirements  Complete Day 1 Worksheet  Save Day 1 Worksheet to your H Drive and Upload to TCCI Journal

Welcome Work  Log onto the computer  Once you receive your TCCI access card, follow the steps below to create your account.  Go to CSHS website  Click Counseling on the left hand side  Click on TCCI/Naviance on bottom left

Creating Your Account  Click: TCCI Naviance: Family Connection  Sign in under “Are you new here?” “I need to register” Enter code from ticket. Then use address and password. It should be student I.D. # and the number 0 (ie )

Once you are logged on to TCCI please turn off monitor and wait quietly for further instructions. Once you are into TCCI, please turn off your monitor for a short presentation from your counseling team

Objectives:  Day 1. I can navigate through the TCCI website and Colleges, Career and About Me tabs  Day 2. I can identify multiple strategies of a successful student

Who are your Counselors?  Melissa Beverly (A-D)  Lori Dahne (D-K)  Corrie Klinefelter(K-R)  Mike Sarraino (R-Z)  Beth Udisky (Social Worker)  Pam Menton (IB Soph- Snrs.)

What is counselor of the day(C.O.D.)?  Counselor of the day is to ensure a counselor is available for emergency situations or general questions.  When is my counselor the Counselor of the Day (COD)?  Mike Sarraino = Monday  Lori Dahne = Tuesday  Crisis Only 1st Available = Wednesday  Melissa Beverly = Thursday  Corrie Klinefelter = Friday

How do I see my Counselor?  your counselor directly for an appointment.  Counselors can help address concerns in the following areas:  Academic success  College/ Post High School Planning  Career Planning  Personal/social issues  If the appointment is regarding a concern about a teacher, you will need to meet with your teacher first.  Don’t forget, you can see the C.O.D. for quick questions or wait for your counselor to be the C.O.D.

ECAP (Education Career Action Plan)  What is E.C.A.P.? A student's current plan of coursework, career aspirations, and extended learning opportunities in order to develop the student's individual academic and career goals.  9 th Study Skills, 4 year plan, Common Application/Resume  10 th Career Exploration and College Admissions Testing  11 th Choose Me Essays and College Comparison  12 th Senior Splash Series

I Got a D! Arghhhhh! What can I do? Leave the Grade  Does NOT count for college admission  Lowers my GPA Retake the Course  Better grade counts  More scholarship opportunities  Raises my GPA  Better prepared for next level course

Turn monitor back on and use worksheet to help you explore  Document library from home tab  Colleges  Careers  About Me  Click Home tab (to the left of College tab). Go to document library (on right side of screen). Freshman folder, then Freshman Study Skills Worksheet.doc. Enable Editing

Important  To Save your Worksheet in TCCI:  1. Save to your H: drive or Thumbdrive  2. Go to About Me tab, click “Journal”  3. Add new Entry……  4. Subject is StudySkills/TCCI  5. Check boxes for Share with Teachers, Counselors and My Parents  6. Click Browse (from H: drive), Attach, then Add Journal Entry  7. You must see paperclip to save successfully

Before You Leave Today  Complete Both Parts of your Worksheet  Save Worksheet in Your H Drive  Upload into TCCI-(Teacher Check)  About Me, Journal, Add a New Entry, Name, Share with Counselors/Teachers/Parents, Browse, Click to Add, and Attach  Once added look for black paper clip and green shared  Reopen upload to make sure the correct document is attached
