2 9 th, 10 th, 11 th & 12 th Grade Portfolio Requirement (Minimum of 10 hours of service each year.) If a year is missed points will be lost for the Senior Exhibition Grade.

3 Why is this important?  It is an opportunity to give back to your community  It addresses the ESLR’s at PHHS  It sure looks good on college applications

4 Where can you find community service opportunities? Other ideas:  Help a teacher, counselor, librarian or custodian!  Help an elderly neighbor!  Tutor an elementary school student or high school student!  Look around and see who needs help! 5 Fill in the Community Service Log for each type of service you have completed. Fill in the name and contact number for the person/organization you helped.

6  Log into the Naviance Program, from PHHS website - http://www.sandi.net/henry http://www.sandi.net/henry  On the front page of Family Connections look on the right side & you will see “Document Library”.

7 This is the first site you see after logging in. The “document library” has the community service document along with other key items. ClickHere

8 After opening the “document library” then look in “My personal documents” for your community service log. ClickHere

9 Inside the link for “My personal documents”, The Community Service Log is available. This is a requirement for all students from 9 th through 12 th grades.

10 This is an example of what the Community Service Log looks like. After you type in your services then save it to your computer.

11 You will upload your log in the “journal” section: Here After your log is saved on your computer then you will need to upload it into your Naviance journal.

12 How to upload your document into the Journal. Click on “+add new entry” Follow the directions to add your document. Click here

13 How to “Add Journal Entry”: Fill in the template below. Submit by clicking “Add Journal Entry” Check counselors, teachers, & my parents. Type in Community Service or whatever the title is of your document. Browse your computer to find your document and click on it, then click on attach.

14 your favorite assignments and essays. They will be saved in your “Journal” and you can share them with panel members during your Exhibition. Now that you know how to upload your Community Service Log you can upload

15 When you want to show your Community Service Log & other assignments, you open your “Journal” where they are saved. Click here

16 Option 1: Option 2: You may show your Community Service Log from the Naviance program. You would display this from a computer projecting the Log onto a pull-down screen in the classroom. You may print your Community Service Log and place it in your Exhibition Portfolio 3-ring binder for panel members to view.
