Who We Are? Congaree Home Center, Inc. has been offering quality built modular homes and manufactured homes with over 18 years of experience. We are proud to offer homes from leading manufactures in the industry, and giving traditional ranch style, full 2 stories, and Cape Cod style homes. We can custom build on your property taking one of the hundreds of floor plans available and making it your own. About Us Congaree Home Center was established by my grandfather and grandmother, Lester and Jerri Newton. I am the third generation of Newton's which is involved in and own Congaree Home Center. Lester and Jerri Newton started Congaree Home Center, Inc. in They started this company so that they could have something to do while they were semi-retired and here it is 20 years later and they have built a successful company with a solid foundation that is going to last another 20 years and that I am proud to be a part of it. To give you some insight about the owner, Lester Newton, he's a man with the biggest heart and would bend over backwards twice for anyone, yet he is stubborn and a true businessman, and for me the smartest businessman I know. He believes that you always do the best you can; you should treat others the way you want to be treated, and always do what's right. At the age of 73, I have seen my poppa go to customers homes and plant them crape myrtle trees with his tractor, I have seen him spend all day with his tractor raking and backfilling in 90 degree angle around a customer's home who couldn't afford it elsewhere, and I have seen him feeding his animals on his farm at 10 pm, so that his customers could be 100% satisfied and take care of no matter at what time he reaches home.

Lester notice a need in the Columbia area for a dealership to provide quality built homes at affordable prices and a company that would treat people with respect and honesty. A year after opening, Art Newton, my father, joined the company after being in truck and car sales field for over 10 years. Art is another owner and has been a huge part of Congaree since the beginning of management and sales. Art is very much involved in the MHISC (Manufactured Housing Institute of South Carolina) where he has served as a President and currently he is a chair member. I joined the company after I graduated from LSU in 2001, and as I learned the family business, I understood how much effort my grandfather and my father put to make sure that their customer's were happy and satisfied 100% with the service they received and the quality of their home. Again, I am so lucky to be able to work with my father, my grandfather, and my grandmother and the Congaree Home Center family as we learn and grow every day. This company was started on the belief that you must treat everyone like they are a part of your family, and we want each of our customers and our future customers to feel like they have been treated like they are a part of the Congaree Home Center family.
