Author Revision Reminder Reports in Editorial Manager There are 2 reports available for Author Revision Reminders in Editorial Manager: 1.Author Revision Status Report 2.Author Revision Reminder Report These reports are accessible via the 'Send Reminder Letters' link in the Administrative Functions section of the Editor Main Menu. Only users with the proper RoleManager permissions activated can access these reports; if you do not see the Send Reminder Letters link in the Administrative Functions area of your Editor Main Menu, please contact Editorial Solutions.Editorial Solutions 3

'Author Revision Status' Report The ‘Author Revision Status Report” is used to send reminders to authors regarding manuscripts currently in revision. Click on the 'Author Revision Status Report' link to get started. 4

'Author Revision Status' Report Enter the appropriate search criteria, then click the 'Submit' button to run the report. 5

The above report shows all of the submissions currently out for revision which meet the Search criteria entered on the previous page. The 'Content' section at the top of the page indicates what results are being displayed (in this case, submissions that are with the author and have been out for revision for 30 days or more). NOTE: Clicking the Details or History links will cause the Details page or History page for that paper to open in a new window. Clicking on a person's name will open that person's People Information page in a new window. Check the Send Reminder box for each person to whom you'd like to send a reminder , then click on the 'Send Reminders' button at the bottom of the page. 'Author Revision Status' Report 6

On the next screen, select the Reminder Letter you would like to send (for example, 'Author Late Revision'). Then, click on either 'Send Reminder Letters' or 'Customize Letter' to proceed. 7

8 'Author Revision Status' Report Click on the hyperlinked Reminder Letter name to customize your letter. When ready to send your reminders, click Send All Letters. Clicking on Customize Letter will display the following screen: Clicking on Send Reminders will display the following screen confirming that the reminders have been sent:

9 'Author Revision Reminder' Report The Author Revision Reminder Report is used to send reminders to authors regarding upcoming, due, or overdue revisions. Click on the 'Author Revision Reminder Report' link to get started.

11 'Author Revision Reminder' Report The above report shows all of the submissions currently out for revision which meet the Search criteria entered on the previous page. The 'Content' section at the top of the page indicates what results are being displayed (in this case, revisions that are with the author and are 0 or more days past the Revision Due Date). NOTE: Clicking the Details or History links will cause the Details page or History page for that paper to open in a new window. Clicking on a person's name will open that person's People Information page in a new window. Check the Send Reminder box for each person to whom you'd like to send a reminder , then click on the 'Send Reminders' button at the bottom of the page.

12 'Author Revision Reminder' Report The 'Author Revision Reminder' Report contains useful information regarding the date the revision is due, how many days are left until the revision is due (or how many days overdue the revision is), the date of the last reminder and the Editor's decision. Check the box next to the assignment(s) requiring a reminder. Then, click 'Send Reminders'.

14 'Author Revision Reminder' Report Clicking on Customize Letter will display the following screen: Click on the hyperlinked Reminder Letter name to customize your letter. When ready to send your reminders, click Send All Letters. You will then see a confirmation screen like that shown below.

15 Automated Author Revision Reminder Report The Automated Author Revision Reminder Report is used to set up reminders to be sent automatically to authors whose submissions meet the preset criteria. Click on the 'Automated Author Revision Reminder Report' link to get started.

16 Automated Author Revision Reminder Report Automated Author Revision Reminders can be customized according to Reminder Type, First Assigned Editor, Editor Who Made First Decision, Article Type, or Section/Category. Set up a separate reminder for each specific set of criteria you'd like to use. Each report will send a reminder to an author EXACTLY the number of days defined. For example: 'Author Revision Reminder – 30 days outstanding*', or 'Author Revision Reminder – 7 days before due date‘. For assistance with Automated Author Revision Reminders, please contact Editorial Solutions. Editorial Solutions * The 'Outstanding' Reminder Type is useful for journals not using Revision Due Dates.

17 Automated Author Revision Reminder Report – Setting up Report Parameters 1. Select a Reminder Type and enter the desired search settings. 2. Enter a Reminder Name and select the letter that will be associated with the reminder. 3. Select the Article Type and/or Section/Category to which you'd like this reminder to apply. 4. Click 'Save As Automated Reminder' to save your new reminder. Repeat the steps above for each reminder you'd like to set up; all saved reminders will then appear in a list at the bottom of the page.
