*CRYING*

HAHA What a great day! Let’s play Scruffs!!

Dad, Scruffy never leaves me alone when I’m sad, but when I’m happy he automatically wants to play! How does he always know how I’m feeling? Scruffy is a lot smarter than you think!! Dogs pick up emotion mainly through sounds— like people! Humans and dogs share a similar social environment and process social information like we do! That’s how they can speak so effectively to each other too! Dogs used sounds to communicate to each other and other species while they were evolving a very long time ago!!sounds Not necessarily voices as sounds (though, they can respond to those too)—but dogs respond better to emotion-heavy sounds, like crying, whining, yelling, laughing and more!better

Scientists found that the similar social environment between people and dogs will help to do more research on the brain processes of dogs! Now that we know that Scruffy can detect emotion through voices or emotion- heavy sounds, we can take a better look at how our little man sees us and communicates!brain processes Dog and human brains share a similar area of the brain that is responsible for soundsshare

Scruffy’s brain responds the best to happy signals—like happy people or a familiar human scent. He can use lots of things to judge his environment, but sounds, happy ones, are his favorite. Isn’t biology great, Justin?happy signals JUST LOOK AT HIM WITH YOUR SISTER! He knew she was happy!!

Scruffy as a Baby!! Now that they know how my brain works maybe they will stop pointing at my butt like they want me to sit or something… pointing at my butt Are they done talking about me yet?!
