Partnership Working MU , 1.2, 2.6

Every Child Matters(ECM)  5 OUTCOMES  Be healthy  Be safe  Enjoy and achieve  Make a positive contribution  Achieve economic wellbeing  In order to support a child effectively teams of professionals and organisations work together to ensure these outcomes are achieved

Recap……Poster  You have provided a definition of what is a multidisciplinary team. You have also considered who makes up a multidisciplinary team in your setting and why this is important and provided an example of how a team can support a child.( MU )

Partnership Working.( MU )  Make a list of services that we may use to help us meet the needs of the child:  Children’s Centre(Integrated Children’s Centre)  Health Clinics  Psychologists  Youth Development Service  Voluntary Organisations e.g. Barnados

Multi Agency Panel( Team around the child)  All children are supported to have their individual needs met on a day to day basis, however some children require more support.  Therefore a team of professionals from organisations will meet to decide how best they can support the child and the family.  A team leader will be assigned to assess, plan and evaluate the care package and progress being made.

Together we are stronger……

Let’s think about  What children and families may require additional support and why is this important?  How and why are referrals made to different organisations ?( 2.6)  Why is early intervention so important? Consider ECM in your answer

Task In order to complete this task:  1.1- Explain why working in partnership with others is important for children and young people  1.1- Identify who relevant professionals would be in own setting( Include your poster )  1.2 AND produce a leaflet of what partners/organisations could you call upon in a childcare setting. Provide an example of how and why you may need their help in meeting the needs of the child.  2.6- Why and how are referrals made to different agencies/organisations?
