Day One Hook Exercise Background Reading Document Analysis

Hook Exercise Consider the following question: Who is most to responsible for the low graduation rates in American high schools? Write your response. How might parents respond to this question? How might your teachers respond to this question? How might your fellow students respond to this question? Discuss possible responses with a partner.

Hook Exercise: Student Handout 1 Record your answers on Student Handout 1. Share out with the class when called on by the teacher.
