6 Australian Government Eligibility Criteria Eligibility for incentives depends on a number of factors: 1. Type of employment - Employees must be employed on a full-time or part-time basis and work a minimum of 13hrs per week (casuals do not qualify) 2. Whether employees are new (employed less than 3 months full-time or 12 months part-time) 3. Whether employees are existing (employed more than 3 months full- time or 12 months part-time) 4. Prior qualifications (type of qualification and year completed can effect eligibility) 5. Permanent residency status

8 Workplace English Language & Literacy Program (WELL) Assists organisations to train workers in English language, literacy and numeracy skills. Funding is available on a competitive grants basis to organisations for English language and literacy training linked to job-related workplace training and is designed to help workers meet their current and future employment and training needs. Funding is available for three types of projects - training projects, resource and strategic projects Visit the DEEWR website for further information

9 Victorian Training Guarantee New program in 2011 that helps both individuals and businesses access a funded skills system. Allows all Victorians to have access to training no matter on their employment status. Subsidised training place applicable to all staff who are ‘up-skilling’ via an accredited training pathway. Offers a variety of VET programs which incorporate on-the-job training, including apprenticeships and traineeships.

10 Victorian Training Guarantee You can access a government subsidised training place if you are: Under 20 years of age, no matter what accredited course you are doing If you are doing a foundation level course (preparation for work, literacy and numeracy courses) If you wishing to undertake an apprenticeship/traineeship Doing an accredited course that is higher than any you have completed in the past

12 Skills for Growth – Workforce Development Program Identify business objectives and priorities Assess the skills needs of business and employees Establish a customised workforce training and development plan in line with strategic business goals Facilitate any staff placements into accredited training Review overall outcomes
