Violent Video games and their effects on children  The school district propose a plan to tackle problems caused by video games  The problem is worsen due to the increasing number of video game consoles and their interactive nature

I- Behavioral -Aggressive thought and behavior -Lack of empathy, stereotypes -Criminal behavior and considering killing as normal -Foul Language -Becoming addicted

II- Academic -Lower grades -Poor reading and writing skill -Poor performance

III- Social life -Time away from family time -Becoming isolated -Being associated with the wrong people -confuse reality with fantasy

IV- Physical -Less outdoor activity -Less exercise -Bad eating habit and overweight -health problem

 Volunteer Students Students that wanted to participate in the study  Parents Parents of volunteer students

 School District Members and Teachers -the school district wanted to make the school ground a safe place for everyone -wanted to measure students overall academic or behavioral performance change

 How I overcome skepticism and objections  I don’t get angry and I understand there is always someone who looks for loophole in everything  I try reason with them using my strongest arguments  I explained them the facts patiently and repeatedly, and tell them to see the problem themselves

 How to make my proposal the “winning” type  I do my homework  Know my audiences and their need  Be reasonable and always present facts  Show the problem and the solution  Be open to new ideas

What the school can do to prevent problems that caused by violent video games  Selecting and suggesting appropriate games I. Check the ratings II. Ask professionals if the particular game is appropriate for kids

 Agree and talk with students I. To stop playing violent video games for a year II. Explain kids the reason why violent video games are bad III. Encourage them to spent their time out door, meeting with people, with exercise or other useful hobbies

 Advise parents to I. Strongly warn students about the potential danger of video games II. Be a role model to their kids III. Set clear rules IV. Play games with their kids V. Monitor video games and limit the time
