 KEEP THE INTRODUCTION SHORT  CREATE INTEREST Suitable introduction phrases for the narrative letter: I can’t wait to tell you about what happened I am dying to tell you Wait until you hear You won’t believe what You’ll never believe..... You’ll never guess DON’T FORGET TO SAY WHEN THE INCIDENT HAPPENED This morning/this afternoon/just now/ a few minutes ago, etc INTRODUCTION

 SET THE SCENE - Who were you with? - What were you doing? -When were you there? - Why were you there? I was walking home from school with David on Tuesday My mum and I had been in the city centre looking for a birthday present for Dad The scene you describe should be routine and ordinary. This will provide a contrast with the main event and make the story more interesting.
