Interesting facts Skeleton made its Olympic return in 2002 after a 54 year absence. Like luge the sport involves racing a sled down an icy track. Unlike luge, Skeleton sleds are ridden face first. The sport skeleton was named after when someone commented that a new metal sled, first used in 1892, resembled a skeleton.
About skeleton Skeleton is a single person sport. It is were a person is on a sled and they are on an icy track they have to go around the icy track; they go head first it is a very dangerous sport. Skeleton is a fast winter sliding sport in which a person rides a small sled down a frozen track while lying face down, during which the rider experiences forces up to 5km and reaches speeds over 130 km/h The sport was named from the bony appearance of the sled.

judging The judges look at how they start and if they do anything wrong and at the end of the persons race they see what time they got.
