Gravity pulls the rider down which causes more force to get the sled moving. The rider also runs and jumps on the sled and makes the force of gravity and forward momentum to move it forward. Riders can experience about five G’s of force!

 The rider jumps on the sled and that causes the sled and the rider to go down hill faster. There is also a lot of gravity and momentum involved in this. Riders can go up to forty to ninety mph.

 In the skeleton there is a lot of momentum factors. One of them are forward momentum. Another one is the momentum of the being sucked into the turn. The last force of momentum is the momentum of how much weight is on the sled. This makes it harder to turn and stop the sled at the end of the run.

 On a skeleton track there is sleds and rider going up to ninety mph. in this years Olympic a skeleton rider died because he went around a corner an flow of the track because the wall was not high enough. The length of the wall are very important. After the accident they made the walls of the track higher. The length of the course is about ¼ mile long. They run for fifty meters and jump on the sled. Summer practice

 Acceleration is the rate at which some thing seeds up. There is acceleration in this sport because the rider is speeding up as the sled goes faster.
