Why earn a high school diploma? High school graduates earn more money.

Why earn a high school diploma? A diploma is usually required by colleges & universities. The more you learn, the more you earn.

Why earn a high school diploma? Many jobs require applicants to have a diploma.

How do I earn a high school diploma? You need: 1.Credits 2. SOL tests (state assessments)

What are credits? If you pass a class, you get one credit.

How many credits do I need? You need to earn at least 22 credits in different subjects to get a diploma.

What are SOL tests? Standards of Learning (SOL) tests are assessments required by the state of Virginia. All students must take them at the end of the year in certain subjects.

How many SOL tests do I need to pass? You have to pass at least 6 SOL tests to earn a high school diploma.

Are there different types of high school diplomas? There are 2 high school diplomas: Standard Diploma Advanced Diploma

What opportunities are there for earning high school credits toward a diploma? You can go to ESOL Summer or Night School!

What is ESOL Night School or Summer School? You can take classes, earn credits, and take SOL tests at ESOL Night School and Summer School.

What classes can I take at ESOL Night School or Summer School? You can take classes in English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and English Language Development (ELD).

Can I still go to the non-ESOL Night School or Summer School? Yes, you can! Information on courses and costs are available in the spring. Check pwcs.edu..
