A Science Fair Where do I begin?

What can I do as a science fair project? Science is everywhere! Anything can generate a science question. The Light around you is science. The air you breathe is science. The person next to you is science. So, let’s get started…

Selecting a Topic What do I want to find out about the world?

Generate a Problem Is Elvis really alive? Is my hearing and sight ok? Were mirrors involved in the magic trick? Does eating b4 a test really help your grade

MORE POSSIBLE QUESTIONS How to drink salt water. Plastics vs liquids Which landmass will survive a hurricane? How tall is that pole? How a jump effects a Horseback riders heart rate.

Research Your Topic Look for information about your science fair idea.

EX: Eating before a test improves test scores What types of food help test scores? How long before a test should you eat a meal? Are certain subjects easier to pass tests in than others? Does the amount of food that you eat matter? Are boys and girls scores affected equally when eating before a test?

Purpose – Statement of what you intend to do. Hypothesis – educated or scientific guess

Experiment Controlled setting Variables Constants Precise measurements Data collection Science log Graphs

Research Paper Purpose Acknowledgements Research Materials Procedure Data and Results Conclusions Reference section

Exhibit Let your creativity shine through. Use photos, drawings, charts, graphs, and lots of color to display your information.
