Poem A Day! Haiku Limerick Color Cinquain Concrete Free Verse Each Class period I will introduce a new poem. We will do an example together, you will do an example with your group members and you will complete one individually. *Each group will get a poster and you will transfer your groups poems to the poster each class period. Your group will present the poster after we have introduced all of the poems. *Next week you will create your OWN poetry portfolio with examples that you have created!

Haiku- A Japanese Poetic Form that is generally about nature it follows a specific rhythm. 1st line: 5 syllables 2nd line: 7 syllables 3rd line: 5 syllables I walk across sand And find myself blistering In the hot, hot heat
