4 Types of poetry Haiku Haiku is a form of poetry from Japan. It has 3 lines. It tells about nature or the seasons. Haiku have 17 syllables in all. The first line has 5 syllables. The second line has 7 syllables. And, the third line has 5 syllables.

Limericks are funny poems.  They have five lines that rhyme. Lines 1, 2,  and 5 rhyme. And, lines 3 & 4 rhyme with each other.
