1.3 THE SUPERLATIVE DEGREE: THE MOST OR THE LEAST.  Superlatives are used to compare more than two things.  Superlative sentences usually use THE, because there is only one superlative.  The superlative form of an adjective is used to describe something which possesses a characteristic in the greatest degree.

Structure: Subject + the + superlative form of adjective + noun Eduardo is the ugliest boy in my class. Subject + the + most + adjective + complement Yamil is the most beautiful man in the world.

Subject + the + least + adjective + complement The Royal is the least expensive hotel in this city.
