Presentation transcript:

You do not have to be in it. The Talent Show is optional for 4 th graders only. No younger siblings. You may only be in 1 act (solo or group). You must ask you parents and return the permission slip by this Friday (April 8). Not everyone will make it. Our show can only be 45 minutes long. You must be able to attend 2 after school rehearsals (May 19 and 26 till 4:20).

Auditions are based on: Preparedness Your routine must be polished and practiced You must practice outside of school…and get your parents’ help Music Must have appropriate lyrics….if not, there are no “do overs” Needs to be 1-2 minutes long, we will help you cut your music

Stage presence Look out at your audience, move around if you sing Again….have your act practiced and polished Conduct If you have an office referral starting today until the Talent Show, you will not be allowed to perform

Singing Know the lyrics Sing out….you will try out with a microphone No lip syncing Provide your own music (on a CD or flashdrive) Music cannot be on an ipod No more than 3-5 singers will be chosen If you talent is…….

Gymnastics You must provide your own mats and someone to move them Must have mats for tryouts and practices

Comedy Jokes must be appropriate (no hitting or shoving) Your routine must be practiced and ready

Tryouts Tryout will be during the school day (probably during specials). You will get a note telling you the date of your tryout. It is YOUR responsibility to bring your music and any props on that day. If you are not ready to perform on tryout day, you will not be in the show.

Extra Info No card trick acts….audience can not see We will have a piano available Costumes must be appropriate A teacher will be the MC Don’t copy acts from last year Go on YouTube with your parents for ideas

Please remember…. Permission slips go out today and they must be returned by Friday. Return complete forms in the black tray outside Mrs. Rayner's door. If you lose your form, print one from the webpage. This Power Point is also on the webpage. If you have a question, write it down with your name and teacher’s name and put it in the tray. Mrs. Rayner or I will get back to you. NO stopping Mrs. Rayner or me in the hall for questions AND… NO DRAMA. You and your friends work it out. Do not come to me or your teachers to solve your problems.

Any questions….because after today, all questions must be written down and left in the black tray. One last thing…..

If you decided to tryout and be in the show, it will be a wonderful, fun, exciting experience! We have the rules in place so everything will go smoothly. Please don’t ask us to change or bend the rules. The answer will be no. Remember that the Talent Show is extracurricular and that SCHOOL is still our main focus!
