UCAS PROGRESS GIVES YOU INFORMATION AND ADVICE ABOUT WHAT IS AVAILABLE TO YOU POST 16 (AFTER YOU FINISH YOUR EXAMS IN YEAR 11) *SIXTH FORM *COLLEGES *APPRENTICESHIPS *TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES *BTEC *A LEVELS * FOUNDATION LEARNING UCAS Progress is a system online to help ALL Young People (not just young people who want to go to University)

YOU CAN APPLY TO DIFFERENT PLACES WITH ONE APPLICATION INSTEAD OF APPLYING TO PLACES SEPARATELY. WHAT DOES UCAS PROGRESS LOOK LIKE?

This is to be completed during Form Time The form will help you break your personal statement down. Just fill in the sections KS4 Personal Statement Worksheet Writing about the course Why are you applying for your chosen subjects / courses? Why does your choice interest you? Include evidence that you understand what is required to study the course. Why do you think you’re suitable for your choices? Do you have any particular skills and experience that will help you succeed on the course? Hobbies and Interests Make a list of your hobbies, interests and social activities. Do any of your activities / after school clubs link to your choices? KS4 Personal Statement Worksheet Work Experience Include details of any placements / work experience or voluntary work especially if they have any links to your chosen course. Skills and Achievements Write about your time in school, what have you achieved? Certificates / Grades / Prefect etc Do you have any achievements outside of school? Future Plans What is it that you want to achieve after completing the courses you have applied for? University? Job? Apprenticeship?

EACH STUDENT IN YEAR 11 WILL GET A USERNAME AND PASSWORD IN OCTOBER TO LOG IN TO UCAS PROGRESS THERE WILL BE A HELP SHEET GIVEN TO EACH STUDENT TO SUPPORT YOU IN FILLING IN EACH SECTION OF YOUR PROFILE. THESE WILL BE HANDED OUT IN FORM. THERE ARE FIVE SECTIONS YOU NEED TO USE THE KS4 STATEMENT SUPPORT SHEET TO HELP YOU WRITE YOUR PERSONAL STATEMENT. IT CAN BE DIFFICULT TO KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN BUT THE SHEET WILL HELP YOU- USE IT! EACH STUDENT WILL HAVE TIME TO WORK THROUGH THEIR UCAS PROGRESS WITH MRS SMITH AND MISS CORBETT IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS THEN SEE MRS SMITH AND MISS CORBETT IN THE LIBRARY OR THE CAREERS OFFICE BY STUDENT RECEPTION What should I do now?
