Programme Description Our economy and business environment are rapidly changing. The speed of change and new dynamics of operating are on display in one of our country’s most important industries – the petroleum industry. The new global economy needs new global women leaders. The Duke CE Women in Leadership Programme 2014, develops women in leadership positions to face these complex and volatile challenges through the perspective of your industry. The programme is designed for women in leadership and management positions, enabling them to develop, translate, and execute strategy. Women in Leadership Programme 2014

The programme consists of the following modules: Launch (1 full day) Module 1: Understanding Me, Myself, and I (2 days) - My personal and professional journey - Emotional intelligence as an enabler - Enablers and blind spots - Individual Development Plan (sign off) Module 2: Shattering Social Constructs (2 days) - Personal branding and creating social networks - Identity of women and how it relates to the petroleum industry. - Opportunities, constraints, and transformation. Module 3: Creating a High Performance Culture (2 days) - Value creation of organisational assets. - Getting the most out of your people through collaboration, teamwork and culture. Module 4: The Value Chain in the Petroleum Industry (2 days) - Study of the petroleum industry and its operations in South Africa - The global industry - Future trends Module 5: Accountability and Compliance – ALP presentations and Graduation (2 days) - Governance and compliance - Socio-political, environmental and governmental issues - Ethical considerations Location: Johannesburg and Cape Programme length: 5 Modules of two days each Graduation: 2014 Who should attend? The programme is aimed at talented women in management positions with a proven track record. This includes middle managers with high potential who need to move to the next level of management (manager of others or manager of managers) and technical specialists.
