Why I’m a member… AFT keeps me in touch with what’s happening in the field and connects me with colleagues locally and around the UK.

Why I’m a member… AFT supports me and my practice, so it helps me to be more useful to the families I’m working with.

AFT Branches AFT has a flourishing network of local branches that hold workshops, meetings, and other activities. Although the branches are part of AFT, and AFT membership is encouraged, you don’t need to be an AFT member to attend branch activities. Check the AFT website to find the branch closest to you, and enjoy the inspiration and support of being part of a local group.

What my local AFT branch means to me I really enjoy our local branch meetings. It’s very encouraging to connect with other systemic practitioners and family therapists.

What my local AFT branch means to me I love sharing ideas, finding out how other people manage their challenges, and knowing who I can turn to when I feel a bit stuck.

What my local AFT branch means to me Belonging to my local Branch is an important part of my personal and professional development. I’ve learned so much from going along to the meetings and workshops.

Who can be a member of AFT? Student Members – any student currently training on family therapy courses. Members – qualified but not registered with UKCP via AFT, or not qualified but interested in family therapy. Registered Members – qualified Family and Systemic Psychotherapists registered with UKCP through AFT. Retired or Unwaged members – concessionary rate. Why I’m a member… Being a member of AFT enriches my understanding of the families I meet everyday in my work. I enjoy the freshness and stimulation of Context and the rigour and breadth of the articles in the Journal of Family Therapy…

Why I’m a member… The Annual Conference grows my skills and gives me valuable CPD, as well as being a great time to meet other family therapists and friends… I find myself visiting the AFT website at least once a month for useful information…

Why I’m a member… Being an AFT member is great value for money! I get 4 journals, 6 Contexts, discounts on workshops and conferences, plus lots of support, help, ideas and great friends! That’s priceless!

AFT listens… AFT wants to know what it can do to support students training on family therapy training courses across the UK. Please let them know your needs, questions and ideas via the contact page on the website or by phone I’d like What about…? Help! ?
