WPF Therapy was Founded in 1969, with full time training programmes starting in 1974 and has a reputation for providing high quality training for counsellors and therapists from Foundation Courses through to specialist CPD courses.

3. WPF Therapy Counselling Trainees
WPF offers multiple entry points to for study. These include foundation courses in counselling skills, specialist CPD courses and Professional qualifications including a
Clinical Qualification in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and a Clinical Qualification in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.
WPF Therapy’s professional qualifications lead to registration with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and our Clinical Qualification in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy is also BACP accredited.
Between 2014 and trainees graduated from WPF Therapy’s professional qualifications.
Over the four years of training with WPF, on our professional qualification courses, students spend 320 hours in clinical work.

4. WPF Therapy Counselling Clients
Over 48% of new clients are recommended to WPF Therapy by Friends or Family.

A sliding scale for fees, based on client income, allows us to offer Individual sessions from £40.
WPF Therapy works with over 400 clients every month.
On average, the charity receives over 1,400 enquires from new clients each year, booking more than 750 assessments.
In April 2018 WPF Therapy launched the Kyle Low Cost Therapy Clinic in April, offering 12 months of psychodynamic psychotherapy from £5.00 per session.
Specialist interventions are provided within focussed Clinics like EMDR within the Borough Trauma Clinic.
From first contact to assessment with a member of our Senior Clinician team clients wait only 9 days on average, and often the wait is at their request.
Offering a range of models including; open ended individual psychodynamic psychotherapy, analytic group therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, time limited psychodynamic psychotherapy.
The clinic is open 8am – 9pm Monday to Friday and 9am – 4pm Saturday, ensuring a range of session times.
