How do Academies work? Academies in high school, recruit students that share a specific interest through an application process Each academy will have core teachers that teach to the academy interest by providing cross curricular instruction Academy students share many of the same classes and travel through the program together

All students can learn. Students learn in different ways and should be provided with a variety of instructional approaches to support their learning. Students learn best when they have appropriate opportunities for success. Challenging expectations increase individual student performance. Cultural diversity can increase students' understanding of different peoples and cultures. Teachers, administrators, parents, and the community share the responsibility for advancing the schools' mission. Each student is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs. All stakeholders benefit from the Upper Academy because it prepares the student with knowledge in a career interest that can lead to the start of a rewarding and satisfying career.
